CFAC PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
Investing With Purpose
WHO WE ARE
Compounding for a Cure (CFAC) Portfolio Management is a student-run non-profit at UBC managing a real money investment portfolio with the goal of generating funds and awareness for ALS research. Founded in 2016, CFAC’s mission is twofold: to educate students on the fundamentals of capital markets while raising awareness and funds for ALS research.
CFAC provides students with real experience in managing an investment portfolio. Members undergo an extensive training program on equity research, valuation & financial modelling. The investment team pitches both stock initiations and holding reviews to the investment committee.
Beyond stock pitching, the team puts on various events, competitions and workshops - strengthening UBC's finance community while supporting its philanthropic efforts. Members gain invaluable experience and mentorship from upper-year students and industry professionals that provide them with the essential skills, network, and preparation to break into the world of finance.
